The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Elementary my dear Watson! This story is part of the crime saga following the detective, Sherlock Holmes, and the bevy of mysteries he attempts to solve. This story focuses on an "urban legend" of a dog so powerful, it has lived through centuries and serves as protector of a wealthy estate in England, and its keepers: the Baskervilles. Written in the early 1900s, this is considered Doyle's most popular novel and Sherlock Holmes' most inspiring adventure.
While we are fascinated by animal stories and legends, there is more to this story than meets the eye. Thus Holmes' takes many things into consideration including the rich history of the estate, the current proprietors and townspeople and perhaps the dog itself.
This novel interestingly helps to create the "Baskerville Theory" that people experience heart attacts due to psychological fear and relates to the fact that people suffer death as a result from these stressors in the fourth week of the month... however, this theory's roots lay within the pages of the text! Read on!
